We spent a year developing a tool to help international students to make thier lifes easier in New York.
We host several workshops with them to understand their needs and main challanges.
From our personal experience and interviews we’ve done with other students, we found that incoming foreign students to the city don’t know what to expect and face difficulties around finding housing and funding, managing the systems of daily life here and overcoming language and cultural barriers.
 
 
We also know there is a big problem in the US with crimes on campus - a lot is happening, it doesn’t get reported, it doesn’t get resolved. International students face unique difficulties in this aspect - they’re a more vulnerable community, are far from their trusted networks and lack adequate information about precautions and help services.
